The Town of Davie Special Projects Department offers year round and seasonal cultural activities, special events and festivals for the entire family. Some of our annual traditional festivals include:
Trail Rides
Join the Town of Davie and the South Florida Trail Riders for a trail ride through Davie's equstrian trail system. Breakfast, water and a goodie bag are all included in a small fee. You must bring your own horse!
Dr Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Picnic Celebration *Sunday, January 17, 2010*
Come celebrate the birthday of an American hero by participating in the picnic Celebration. Enjoy a climbing wall, bounce house, petting farm, free lunch (while supplies last) and more! This year's event will be on Sunday, January 17, 2010.
This festival focuses on Davie’s unique heritage and rural roots as an agricultural community. Dating back to the early 1950’s, this festival has grown to include a heritage parade, 99.9 KISS Country Concert, an arts and crafts fair, a fine arts show, an antique stage coach and wagon display, a livestock fair, an Orange Blossom cook-off, a Strawberry Festival, interactive children’s area, live country entertainment, a country barbecue, and two days of professional rodeo. The festival takes place this year, on February 27 & February 28, 2010, 9:00am to 5:00pm both days.
Free activities include a spring egg hunt with special prizes, free candy, free petting farm, bounce houses, climbing walls, hands on crafts and more. Festival begins at 9:00am, with the Egg Hunt at 10:00am! This event will be held Saturday, April 3, 2010.
The Town of Davie and the Central Broward Water Control District welcomes you to participate in the 14th Annual Waterway Cleanup Saturday, April 24, 2010. Keep the waterways of Davie beautiful and enjoy the free "Trash Splash", at the Pine Island Park Pool, located at 3801 Pine Island Rd, Davie. Memorial Day is that one day in the year that all Americans honor those who have sacrificed so much, in order that we continue to live the American dream. This event will be held on Monday, May 31, 2010.
Poles go in the water at 9am for a relaxing morning by the lake. The small registration fee includes bait, lunch, cap and goodie bag. Prizes will be awarded in all age groups. Free family swim, bounce house, climbing walls, family entertainment, demonstrations and an arts and crafts show! Activities include live country music and Fireworks! This event is held 6:00pm - 10:00pm, on July 4th every year.
Includes a pumpkin patch, free games and prizes, a petting farm, bounce houses, climbing wall & a Halloween costume contest. The South Florida Trail Riders will present a Halloween Horse Costume Contest. This event will be held on October 2010, from 1-4pm at Pine Island Park.
Family Bike Rally
Mark your calendars for the annual Bike Rally, a 6 mile bicycle ride beginning and ending at a Davie Park. Fun for the whole family. Registration begins at 8:30am and the ride begins at 9:30am! Goodie bags included with small entrance fee. Next rally will be Spring 2010.
Annual Pancake Breakfast, Tack Sale and Craft Show
Event will be held in Fall 2010 at Robbins Preserve in Davie (4005 Hiatus Rd., Davie, FL) and sponsored by the South Florida Trailriders of Broward. This event is open to the public and gates open at 10:00am until 2:00pm. Pancake tickets are $5.00 and include all you can eat breakfast and lunch (hot dogs and hamburgers available after 11:30am). Holiday Craft Fair and Green Market *Saturday & Sunday, November 21 & 22, 2009*
This twenty year old craft fair celebrates the finest of country crafts and traditional arts. It will be held on Saturday and Sunday, November 21 & 22, 2009. Free gate admission the days of the event. Click here for a 2009 application.
Voted by its residents as the best decorated city hall in Broward County! Visit a display of thousands of lights, over 50 beautifully adorned holiday trees, menorahs, and kinaras. Free traditional refreshments, holiday magic show, and twenty tons of holiday snow. Have your picture taken with SANTA in the Council Chambers, for a small fee. Jingle Bell Parade, put on by the South Florida Trail Riders. Free petting farm, bounce houses, climbing walls and more!
